The mission of the Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (OADC), through the practice of holistic public defense, is to help adults and children who the government has charged with criminal and delinquent offenses. The OADC’s holistic practice model fosters ethical, informed, and standard-driven best practices in public defense. The OADC allocates resources in a manner intentionally designed to rebalance the disparate power wielded by the government in the criminal legal system. OADC advocates for every client’s inherent worth and dignity by centering the client’s lived experiences and voice to achieve the best legal outcome.
Over the past 20 years, we’ve been building strong relationships with local leaders, statewide decision makers, and elected officials to be a strong consumer advocate. Now we’re deepening our roots and commitments to grassroots community members. The people whose lives are most affected by our health system’s failures have the solutions Colorado needs to design and oversee the changes we need.
The Mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless(CCH) is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for families, children, and individuals who are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness throughout Colorado. CCH advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being and stability of those it serves. Since its founding 40 years ago, the organization has earned state and national recognition for its integrated healthcare, housing and service programs. The Coalition’s comprehensive approach addresses the causes of homelessness, as well as the consequences, offering critical assistance to over 20,000 individuals and families each year.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) organizations in Colorado are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. This network of 18 Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs works to ensure that every child has a voice in the Colorado court system. These programs range from serving a few children to hundreds, and have from one staff member to over thirty. They encompass metro and rural areas, children and families of all ethnicities and financial positions, and handle challenges of geography and resources across the state. CASA volunteers are the heart of our mission and are trained and supported to advocate for the best interests of children. Appointed by family court judges, these community members stand up for children in Dependency and Neglect cases, many of whom are in foster care. CASA volunteers offer stability, compassion, and a consistent presence in the lives of the children they serve, often being one of the few constants during times of uncertainty and transition.
The Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (CCDB) is dedicated to protecting the rights of the accused and is unalterably opposed to the death penalty. They provide training and support to the criminal defense community in an effort to promote zealous advocacy for their clients at every stage of representation. CCDB is the only statewide organization devoted solely to the representation of persons accused of having committed crimes. They provide crucial services and support to private criminal defense practitioners, public defenders, paralegals, and investigators. CCDB is committed to providing their members with the tools they need to better represent their clients and working together to improve Colorado’s criminal justice system.
The Colorado Psychiatric Society is the professional medical association in Colorado that focuses exclusively on the needs of physicians who specialize in psychiatry. CPS addresses all aspects of psychiatric care and includes public, academic and private practice psychiatrists, as well as psychiatric trainees. The Colorado Psychiatric Society is an association of physicians whose mission is to promote excellence in psychiatric care through advocacy, education and research.
CPHA is a 501c3 non-profit association representing Colorado’s statewide network of current and emerging public health professionals, organizations and businesses. We are the largest and oldest public health association in the State. CPHA is working to transform the health and well-being of Coloradans, providing the public health community–both individuals and organizations–a home, a forum, networks and opportunities to participate and collaborate in our core areas of work.

The Colorado Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association (PELA) is an organization that promotes and increases public awareness of employee rights and provides educational opportunities, information and assistance to attorneys who represent employees. PELA members are involved in a wide variety of employment matters including discrimination harassment, retaliation, FMLA, overtime, minimum wage, commissions and other pay failures, breach of contract, non-competition agreements, unemployment, civil rights violations and severance package negotiations. PELA is a proud affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), which was founded in 1985 to provide assistance and support to lawyers in protecting the rights of employees against the greater resources of their employers.

The Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) distributes funds from a 1/10 of 1% sales and use tax to cultural facilities throughout the seven-county Denver metro area. The counties include Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas (except Castle Rock & Larkspur) and Jefferson counties. The funds support cultural facilities whose primary purpose is for enlightening and entertaining the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement or preservation of visual arts, performing arts, cultural history, natural history, or natural sciences.

Youth Healthcare Alliance, formerly Colorado Association for School-Based Health Care (CASBHC), was established as a nonprofit membership association in 1996 to support school-based clinics in our state. Since their founding, Youth Healthcare Alliance has helped communities throughout Colorado establish, operate, and expand school-based clinics to ensure K-12 students and their families receive comprehensive, equitable healthcare. As the unifying, collaborative body for Colorado’s 72 school-based clinics, they are committed to identifying and translating the needs of our members into policy and providing them with essential resources, guidance, and services.
